IdaRent Trailer Rental Terms & Conditions

Rental Responsibility

The renter assumes full responsibility for the trailer upon pickup and for the duration of the rental period. The renter is responsible for safe towing, proper equipment, and compliance with all safety requirements.

Towing Requirements

  • Use a vehicle rated to tow the trailer’s loaded weight
  • Use a 2-5/16” hitch ball (no exceptions)
  • Renter is responsible for proper wiring and brake controller (if applicable)
  • IdaRent does not inspect tow vehicles and assumes no responsibility for tow vehicle suitability

Rental Period

Each 1-day rental allows up to 24 hours only if booked for the full 24 hours.
If a shorter return window is selected, that becomes the deadline.
Late return rules apply after that time.

Late Returns (Firm)

  • 30-minute grace period
  • 31–60 minutes late: $50 late fee
  • More than 60 minutes late: full additional rental day charged
  • Late returns affecting another reservation may result in an additional rental day
  • Overdue trailers may be recovered at renter’s expense

Extensions

Extensions are not guaranteed and depend on availability.
Late fees apply if extension is requested after the trailer is already overdue.

Early Returns

No refund or credit for early returns.

Changes to Reservations

Changes are not guaranteed and depend on availability.
Moving a reservation to a later date is treated as a cancellation.
Shortening a rental period does not result in a refund.

Cancellation Policy (Firm)

  • 50% of the booking total is non-refundable at time of booking
  • Remaining 50% refundable only if canceled more than 72 hours before pickup
  • Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable
  • The cancellation policy is firm and applies regardless of booking time

Credit Card Authorization

The renter authorizes IdaRent to charge the card on file for:

  • Late return fees
  • Rental extensions
  • Cleaning fees
  • Damage or lost items
  • Tire replacement or repairs
  • Recovery fees

Tire Damage & Repairs

The renter is responsible for any tire damage or repairs during the rental period.
Even if the damaged tire had significant tread wear, it must be replaced at renter expense with a new tire of equal size, quality, and ply rating.
IdaRent will not reimburse for the cost of a partially used tire.

Cleaning & Damage

Trailers must be returned clean and undamaged.
Cleaning fees and damage charges may apply.

Malfunction or Safety Concerns

If the trailer is not operating correctly or seems unsafe, stop using it immediately and contact IdaRent. Continuing to operate a malfunctioning trailer may result in additional damage and liability.

Accidents or Theft

You must notify IdaRent and local law enforcement within 1 hour of any accident, theft, or major damage.

Trailer Location

IdaRent reserves the right to confirm pickup, verify return, or recover overdue trailers using GPS or tracking devices for logistical purposes.

Authorized Drivers

Only the renter and approved additional drivers listed in the rental agreement are authorized to tow the trailer. Responsibility remains with the renter.

Trailer Recovery

If IdaRent must retrieve a trailer due to non-return or breach of agreement, recovery fees apply based on distance and time required.

Liability

The renter assumes all risk and liability associated with towing and use of the trailer and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless IdaRent from any claims, damages, or losses arising from use of the trailer.
